The ContacEZ IPR System is an innovative set of dental instruments specifically crafted to make interproximal reduction safe, fast, and easy. These flexible dental strips are ergonomically designed, patient-friendly, and conveniently labeled with specifications on every strip. ContacEZ's interproximal reduction strips make IPR safer and more accurate without creating sharp corners or cutting lips and gums. Yes. ContacEZ diamond strips work with all dental restorative materials including gold, porcelain, composite, amalgam, lava, Zirconia, etc.

What makes ContacEZ Strips more patient-friendly than the alternatives?

Long, two-handed finishing strips tend to cut lips, cheeks, gums, and even dentists' gloves, and their unwieldy length often causes gagging. The single-handed, ergonomic design uses built-in flexibility to maintain the contours and physiological anatomy of the teeth. Most importantly, our products are designed by practicing dentists to ensure ideal and lasting results to provide immediate comfort and functionality.

What can I do if contacts are too tight to fit the Black Diamond Strip?

Dislodge the crown and insert the ContacEZ Black Diamond Dental Strip into the interproximal space with the abrasive surface facing the crown. Place the crown back on the abutment and hold it in place, being careful not to apply any vertical pressure. Begin to pass the strip buccolingually until equal, light pressure is felt on both sides. You can also use the thinner Orange Serrated Diamond Strip to begin the adjustment.

What can I do if the White Serrated Strip is crumbling or breaking?

The White Serrated Strips are exceptionally thin to allow for easy access to proximal contact areas for cutting and cleaning out trapped cement. Vertical pressure or excessive cement can break the strip. For large amounts of even hardened cement, try the Blue Serrated Strip.

How can I be sure my IPR is accurate to the prescribed amounts?

Using the Incremental Thickness Gauges, measure the interproximal space present both before and after performing IPR to ensure only the necessary amount of enamel is removed.

What can I do if my IPR Strip cannot fit into the interproximal space?

Begin with the Yellow IPR Starter (0.06mm, Extra-Fine Diamond, Serrated) to access even overly tight contacts. After passing the strip buccolingually until it becomes passive, repeat with progressively thicker strips until the desired amount of reduction is achieved.

What can I do about the rough surfaces left after performing IPR?

Use the Grey Final Polishing Strip from our Restorative Strip System to quickly and easily restore a smooth, natural surface.

Why are ContacEZ Strips not straight/stiff?

All of the ContacEZ Strips are designed with built-in flexibility to preserve the physiological structure of the teeth to maximize patient comfort and safety.
