DENTO-PREP
Powder blower for optimal bonding strength
DENTO-PREP is a compact, fully autoclavable micro-blaster for use with abrasives such as aluminum and silicon oxide powder (particle size 20-80 microns). The micro-fine blasting can be used for surface cleaning and preparation of ceramic, composite, and metal surfaces before cementing. Ideal for both intra- and extraoral applications. The spray head can be rotated 360° for easy access to all areas of the oral cavity. The powder container acts as a handle. Fits well in the hand with a perfect balance.
Easy finger operation at valve button.
Easy installation using turbine quick couplings.
Made of stainless steel and can be autoclaved.
Used with aluminum and silicon oxide powder (particle size 20-80 µm).
Can be sterilized in an autoclave. See
the user guide
for further details.
Used with Dust-Cabinet for powder blowing e.g. indirect restorations.
Extra-Oral Applications
DENTO-PREP is used to prepare, clean, and coat (silicate) the surface prior to cementation of e.g. crowns, bridges, inlays, on-lays, and orthodontic fastenings.
Indirect metal restorations, composite or ceramic restorations
Orthodontic bands and brackets
To remove cement prior to recommendation
For a matte finish blasting to check the fit of cast metal restorations (non-fitting areas become visible)
Intra-Oral Applications
Micro-roughening prior to adhesive repairs of composite and porcelain

Clogging
If the thin stainless steel tubing inside the DENTO-PREP should become clogged, it can be cleared as follows: Screw off the powder jar, place your finger over the spray tip opening and press the Operating Button. This will cause compressed air to flow back through the unit, clearing away any blockages.
Cleaning
Remove remains of abrasive and back-flush the system as described under clogging. Clean the surfaces of DENTO-PREP. DENTO-PREP may not be immersed in water or any other liquid due to the risk of clogging.
Sterilization
DENTO-PREP (unit as well as powder jar) can be sterilized in an autoclave at max 135°C / 275°F. Unscrew the powder jar before sterilization. After steam sterilization, make sure that the whole system of DENTO-PREP is completely dry before use.
Guarantee
DENTO-PREP is covered by a 1-year material and construction guarantee with the exception of the spray tip. DENTO-PREP is engraved with a 10-digit serial number of which the first 4 digits indicates year and month: YYMM
Can it be used in the dental chair? If so, what connection does it need?
There are several connection options. You can connect directly to the turbine coupling using various adapters that you can purchase separately (KaVo, W&H, Sirona, BienAir, and NSK). By disassembling the turbine, you plug the connector into the quick connector of the turbine and hose coupling to the DENTO-PREP. If your turbine is not from one of the brands mentioned above, you can do this with a Midwest connector for connection to a standard 4-hole turbine hose element. The Midwest connector is universal and can be used with most turbine hoses. Alternatively, you can connect the DENTO-PREP directly into an air supply line for which you will need some hoses (additional purchase). All these can be found in the instructions for use of the equipment.
